PAUL GREENWOOD

SENIOR INVESTIGATOR

INVESTIGATIONS TEAM

Paul is an expert on overt and covert investigations, operational deployment and training.  Since 2009, Paul has worked for well-established investigations firms in the private sector, although that work has included engagements by the UK Government including implementing specialist law enforcement units abroad to combat drug distribution and corruption, and projects for the Uk Government’s Anti-Slavery Commissioners.

Paul is a former Detective Superintendent with the London Metropolitan Police (1982-2009) who has received a number of high commendations for his work, especially in his final posting with Counter Terrorism Command.  Paul served with Counter-Terrorism Command as a Senior Investigating Officer, responsible for investigation into major terrorist incidents.  In this role he also led operational and training teams in the UK and numerous countries abroad.  He later moved to the Intelligence Unit and managed intelligence gathering into terror cells and networks.

Prior to that posting, he served with Anti-Corruption Command.  As well as dealing with serious cases of police corruption, he also led operational teams and headed up the Intelligence Unit with covert assets.  One aspect of this role included the strategic development and implementation of anti-corruption units for governments of other nations.

Before joining Anti-Corruption Command, Paul was engaged with the National Crime Squad (now the National Crime Agency) on an operational basis in the UK and internationally to combat the supply of controlled drugs,  money-laundering and kidnap offences.  His initial policing career took him from uniformed duties to the Criminal Investigation Department where he was engaged in the investigations of major crimes, and he then progressed to the Flying Squad – a branch of the Metropolitan Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Command – to combat armed robberies.

Paul served with the Royal Marine Commandos in the Falklands War.
