Larry Sherwin

Larry is a seasoned, multi-lingual communications professional with extensive international experience in senior management roles.  In the early 90s he was a director at Radio Liberty, where he managed 12 language services broadcasting to the USSR and established a network of independent journalists in Russia, Ukraine and Central Asia.

He then spent several years as Managing Director of America One, a joint US public broadcasting venture for Europe on behalf of National Public Radio and Public Radio International.  During this time he established the technical platform, developed and marketed the radio program stream for European listeners and designed the funding model and sponsorship arrangements.

From 2002 until 2018, Larry was the Deputy Director of Communications for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London.  As welk as having oversight, management and administration of EBRD communications, he also developed strategic initiatives to enhance public awareness of EBRD activities.

A distinguished linguist, Larry speaks many languages and is is fluent in English, Russian, French and German.  He has an MBA in International Finance from University of California, Berkeley; an MA in Political Science fro the Russian Research Centre, Harvard; and graduated from Brown University with an MA in Slavic Languages and a BA in European History (magna cum laude).
