Extensive experience in International Relations, Conflict Management (including Sub-conventional Conflict), Mediation, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding.

Served for over 40 years in the Indian Army, rising to the rank of Three Star General. Held varied command and staff appointments, with sustained operational exposure and impressionable recognition.
Served with the UN at middle and senior levels in the field, in both military and political spectrum.
Contributed meaningfully in Sudan to political reconciliation, peace and stability in the region. Played a major role in the South Sudan Referendum, leading to its becoming an independent country. Later, successfully headed the liquidation mission in Sudan, under challenging political and security environment.
Presently engaged with various UN Offices and multitude international establishments/think-tanks and training academies in upgrading peace, security, human rights and development issues – in particular with UN DPET, Joint Services Command and Staff College, Shrivenham (UK), International Peace Support Training Centre, Karen (Kenya), Austrian Study Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Schlaining (Austria) and Centre of UN Peacekeeping, New Delhi (India).
